So excited to be awarded a BLUE RIBBON for my “Pet Portrait”. They set up a new category this year for those that do photography for a living (or try… LOL) This is one of my favorite images taken of my Svart Hona chicken Sweetness (as my kids affectionately named him) He was my photography class model that day and his feathers though black have a BEAUTIFUL green, blue and purple sheen. Though none of the birds where physically shown this year at fair their image or cute faces were through the photographs that I entered….

So this is pretty exciting… I’ve never been much for sewing and have never made anything with a pattern… I’m more of a freestyler when it comes to creating things.. This BLUE ribbon was awarded for a pillow I created and entered into our County Fair. Inspired by my fun, feisty Svart Hona chickens who have my heart (hence the heart) I made this fun folk like pillow from concept to finish … I’m excited to say this pillow has been entered into our State Fair held Labor Day weekend in Michigan… Keep your fingers crossed :)
