Our Story

What came first the chicken or the name… for me the chicken.. These two crazy fun birds inspired me to create a brand that we could be creative together. Combining their breed name I came up with Svart Chick. My youngest son started showing poultry his freshman year and I figured if you can’t beat’em join’em..so thats what I did..

I fell in love with this breed of chicken after seeing one at a poultry show. Of course I searched online to find out more. Most people refer to them as Svart Hona but they are also known as Swedish Black Hens.These stunning ALL BLACK chickens are so beautiful to photograph and have the corkiest, fun personalities. I began to envision them acting out and dressing up from movie scenes.
